Just one more fixture leading into the xmas break and already it is looking as if top spot and automatic promotion is Kalamunda's to lose. They have opened up a nice break over both Rockingham and Kardinya with Thornlie now in 4th position. After that is it pretty hard to see any of the other teams challenging for a finals spot and it is probably more about making sure they stay out of the bottom 2 positions. Let’s have a quick run thru of this weeks highlights:
- Rockingham with a very good win over Kardinya at home has seem them leap frog them to 2nd place on the ladder. Pretty competitive on all rinks but Rockingham did enough to secure all the points with the Simpson rink the standout with an 8 shot win over John Rochford.
- Thornlie recorded an important away win at Dalkeith to hold onto 4th place on the ladder. All rinks were pretty close with the biggest win being Jim Stern over Lindsay Richardson by 4 shots. Dalkeith season now on life support and they will need to dig deep to try and get their season back on track.
- Rossmoyne back at home proved to strong over Cockburn to record 7 points. All rinks were pretty close but it was Craig Edson and Mayor Lang who both recorded 6 shot wins to get the Rats home. Cockburn again very competitive but walk away with just 1 point.
- Kalamunda doing enough at home to get the points over a competitive Willetton. The highlight of the day was the clash between the Brandsma rink and the Girvan rink which ended in a draw. Both Frank Carbone and Wayne Olive best for Kalamunda with 9 shot wins.
- Our final match saw a major upset with Forrestfield recording recording an 8 shot victory away at Warnbro. The big winner was Trent Tillemans over Barry Kalinowsky by 11 shots. Great result for Forrestfield who move off the bottom and look as if they could be on the rise. Not so good for Warnbro who rely pretty much on home wins and they are now under a little more pressure post this result.
