After a real interesting week of results Mt Lawley will head into the second half on top and the team to beat. Changes again have happened to the top 4 and the round saw a couple more home duck eggs. Down the other end it’s a 3 horse race for the beef but let’s go through the results
Sorrento 50 (0) vs Osborne Park 92 (8)
(Bruce Eagles 16 - John Goddard 19) (Paul Knight 10 - Segan Pasalich 24) (Rhett Butler 16 - Ryan Brown 18) (Ross Cunningham 8 - Jack East 31)
Wow what a result here for the Saints getting all 8 points at Sorrento and jumping into the top 4 for the first time this season. The youth took control with big wins for East and Pasalich with Goddard and Brown just getting over the line to get the extra points. The saints have hit some form and take on the Lions at home in next weeks match of the round. Disaster for Sorrento only getting 1 point in 2 home games but let’s see what they can do when they head to Manning next week.
Safety Bay 80 (7) vs Manning 74 (1)
(Aaron Smith 22 - Warren Holt 21) (Chris Carruthers 21 - Blake Butler 13) (Ron Hall 17 - Nathan Jones 21) (Stephen Hide 20 - Kristina Krstic 19)
I did have a sneaky gut feeling the Bay could get the chocolates and get the chocolates they did with a win over the in form Eagles. I think the Bay will give a few teams some grief in the second half but have a tough ask of them next week when they head to Doubleview. I believe the Eagles let this one slip away but still sit 3rd on the ladder and will be looking to finish of strong when they host Sorrento.
In a game that came down to the final bowl the Lions have just held off the Millers getting 7 points at home. Some interesting rink scores with Neilson getting a good win over Bresland by 12 and Rhodes by 10 over Pauling. Whopper of a win for Scotty Walkers rink that nearly got the Millers home beating the in form Alden rink by 25. The Lions have turned things around from last year currently sitting second on the ladder and head to Osborne Park next week. Back to back losses for the Millers see’s them drop back to 6th but return back home as the host Kardinya.
Kardinya 57 (0) vs Mount Lawley 98 (8)
(Bradley Henley 16 - Shane Knott 18) (Craig Stokes 16 - Daniel Trewhella 27) (Matthew Allen 15 - Ben Leggett 20) (Steven Novak 10 - Corey Bessant 33)
Mounters absolutely flying at the moment and are the team to beat as they record another 8 zip win defeating the struggling Cats by 41. Regardless what happens next week they will finish on top but will be looking to continue their winning run as they host the Knights. Mayday for the Cats getting another home egg and have the difficult task of heading to Sth Perth next week. Unless they can pull off a miracle I think they will finish the first half of the season in the beef.
Cambridge 77 (7) vs Doubleview 76 (1)
(Blake Nairn 15 - Anthony Williams 21) (Brad Gillingham 15 - Kyle McIlroy 14) (Clive Adams 23 - Ryan Moyle 22) (Pieter Harris 24 - Charles Slavich 19)
Looked to be a ripper here but the Knights make it 4 from 4 at home with a 1 shot win over Doubleview. The Knights only just sit outside the 4 but have a battle on their hands as they head over to Mt Lawley chasing their first win on the road. Doubleview host Safety Bay in next weeks battle of the beef
