\An absolute swelter to finish off the first round but we got through all the games. Mt Lawley make it 7 in a row and I think we can lock them already into playing finals. The next 3 spots is anyone’s guess and the reigning premiers are finally out of the beef with some work to do. Merry Christmas to everyone and enjoy the break.
South Perth 77 (7) vs Kardinya 62 (1)
(Glenn Pauling 18 - Matthew Allen 18) (Justin Opie 23 - Robert Bowron 14) (Ross Bresland 17 - Craig Stokes 17) (Scott Walker 19 - Bradley Henley 13)
The Millers getting back into the winners circle with a 15 shot win over the Cats. While they didn’t lose a rink there was 2 draws but the wins of Opie and Walker took care of the agg. The win now sits them nicely in 3rd spot on the ladder. The Cats now are in super big heck. 5 straight loses and now find themselves in the beef.
The Mounters win a close one but chalk up another win to make it 7 in a row. The win now sits them a whopping 21 points clear of 3rd place and looking extremely good to get the double chance in finals. Cambridge although in 7th place only sit 4 and a half points outside the 4 let’s see what they can do in the second half.
Manning 78 (2) vs Sorrento 85 (6)
(David Downey 19 - Ross Cunningham 19) (Kristina Krstic 24 - Paul Knight 24) (Nathan Jones 10 - Murray Hulbert 21) (Warren Holt 25 - Rhett Butler 21)
Sorrento bouncing back to finish off with a win against the Eagles. In another game that had 2 draws it was new skipper Murray Hulbert that got the team home with an 11 shot win over Nathan Jones. Disappointing finish for the Eagles losing 2 close ones but still just remain in the 4.
Doubleview 95 (8) vs Safety Bay 59 (0)
(Charles Slavich 24 - Aaron Smith 18) (John Slavich 29 - Stephen Hide 13) (Kyle McIlroy 20 - Matthew Mortensen 14) (Ryan Moyle 22 - Chris Carruthers 14)
The View needed a big one here and that’s exactly what they did getting all 8 points over the Bay. The win now gets them out of the beef for the first time this season. They sit 11 and a half points out of the 4 and while not out of it by any means would probably need to win 7 out of the remaining 9 to be any chance of finals.
Osborne Park 80 (1) vs Bassendean 84 (7)
(Dale Marsland 22 - David Rhodes 23) (Jack East 18 - Ruairi Kenyon 15) (John Goddard 19 - Wayne Neilson 24) (Segan Pasalich 21 - Simon Alden 22)
Great finish to the end of the first half for the Lions with a 4 shot win over the Saints. The win sits them nicely in 2nd spot 10 points clear of 5th. A great turn around from last season and 50/50 from here should see them in the finals. The loss for the Saints drops them back to 6th but still right in the mix only a couple of points out of the 4 it’s going to be a big second half of the season.
