Ellenbrook 81 (6.5) vs Mount Lawley 67 (1.5)
(Aaron Cole 18 - Carmelo Lenzo 20)
(Michael L Ryan 21 - Andrew Jones 16)
(Michael Lovett 19 - Enda Munnelly 19)
(Robert Ball 23 - Michael Erceg 12)
A home win at the Mounting Yard usually means a late night — and judging by Sunday’s results, a few of the Lawley lads might’ve still been feeling “bowled over” the next morning. Lenzo, clearly still floating after his last-bowl heroics the day before, nicked an away point over Cole. From there, it didn’t get much better for the Mounters. Munnelly and Lovett couldn’t be split, while Ryan beat “we’ll get it next week” Jones by 5. But it was Robbie Ball who showed his class with an aggregate-defining 11-shot demolition of Erceg’s fancied rink. The Brook boys are officially off and running — and maybe the Lawley crew should’ve skipped that extra round at the bar.

Bassendean 90 (7) vs Morley 60 (1)
(Butch Dinnison 31 - Andrew Elmer 10)
(Grant Stokes 19 - Victor Orchard 15)
(John Holman 25 - Christopher Bell 16)
(Neil Strachan 15 - Phillip Leyland 19)
The Lions returned to The Den desperate to get their season roaring — and roar they did. Morley’s Leyland grabbed the visitors’ only joy with a win over Strachan, before the wheels well and truly fell off the Morley bus.
Stokes and Holman chalked up narrow rink wins, and then Big Bad Butch Dinnison went full carnivore mode, serving up the returning Elmer a 21-shot hiding. Bassendean climb a few spots on the ladder, while Morley are left licking their wounds — still winless after three and praying a return home can spark some life.

Warwick 79 (5.5) vs Quinns Rocks 76 (2.5)
(Geoffrey Hinge 19 - Hugh Ward 19)
(Ivan Sparrowhawk 12 - Shane Smith 19)
(Raymond Loran 18 - Warrick Ferris 19)
(Sean Wright 30 - Steve ONeill 19)
Two in-form sides went head-to-head in what promised to be a belter — and it didn’t disappoint. Hinge and Ward couldn’t be separated, while Ferris out-did Loran to pocket an away point. Smith, last year’s top skip, also added to the visitor tally with a tidy win over Sparrowhawk.
But it was Mr. Wright on the Night who sealed it for Warwick — his 11-shot masterclass over O’Neill bagged the aggregate and lifted him to the top of the skip ladder. Warwick stay undefeated after three, perched nicely on the summit and looking every bit the early crown favourites. Next week, they head to the Mounting Yard for Match of the Round.

Wanneroo 75 (1) vs Sorrento 88 (7)
(David Anderson 18 - Lance Martin 23)
(David Triffitt 19 - Timothy Murray 24)
(Kingsley Toster 13 - David Dunstan 25)
(Pieter Geus 25 - Richard Bone 16)
A clash of last year’s 2nd and 3rd placed sides had plenty of hype — but it was the Swans who spread their wings and swooped away with the points. Dunstan got hold of Toster by 12, while Martin and Murray both won by 5 to seal the deal. The only joy for Wanneroo came from Geus — who beat Bone by 9 shots. Both teams now sit at 2–1, still circling the top four and eyeing off another finals run.

Yanchep 104 (8) vs Cambridge 76 (0)
(Callum Arnold 30 - Stuart Lofthouse 28)
(Chris Street 30 - Geoffrey Jones 22)
(Daniel Hartzer 20 - Neil Bolton 15)
(Patrick Daley 24 - Peter Easom 11)
I tipped Yanchep to go 2–0 this weekend — and boy oh boy, did they deliver! They raised the bat with a +100 shot aggregate and made it clear they’re no easybeats this season.
Arnold and Lofthouse scored with Arnold getting over the line by 2 and Hartzer was victorious over Lord Bolton by 5 shots. Street beat Jones by 8 in another high scoring affair and it was Pat Daley who picked up the pots beating Easom by 13. Yanchep go 2-1 and will be optimistic about staying up this season.
