Total Tipsters - 85Men
Section 1
Clive Adams Cameron Harris Wayne Heldt
Chris Leggett Ben Leggett James Groves
Neale Griffin Mitch Biglin Farley Anderson
Murray Hulbert Peter Morgan Pat Murray
Half of the State Fours side has teamed up in Clive Adams and Cameron Harris and they have teamed with Wayne Heldt up front, but I going to go for Neale Griffin and his South Perth teammates. Farley leading exceptionally well at the moment especially being part of the recent over 60's state triples winning team and Griffin in fine form. An upset to start the comp
My Selection - Neale Griffin
CAdams 57.65%, CLeggett 2.35%, NGriffin 34.12%, MHulbert 0%
Section 2
Justin Opie Ash Sharp Beau Manton
Steve O'Neill Darren Rowland Ian Lilburne
Jim Newton Geoff Burgess Alan Andersson
Ben Garrett Alan Cowie W McDonald
Another South Perth team to be selected here, a very strong combonation headed up by Justin Opie should win this section. Steve O'Neill the finalist in the State Fours will be no pushover and don't under estimate Ben Garrett
My Selection - Justin Opie
JOpie 83.53%, SO'Neill 12.94%, JNewton 0%, BGarrett 1.18%
Section 3
Shane Tally Terry Mountford Matthew Bell
Neil Bolton Luke Bolton Matthew Bolton
Mark Douthie Ross Dempsey Geoff Devenish
Noel Bennetts Garry Sims Peter Munday
Tricky little section here, the family Bolton have teamed up here, Matthew swapping over from Billiards to play bowls so he will understand angles and trick shots, a player to look out for. The experienced side of Mark Douthie should be too strong
My Selection - Mark Douthie
STally 0%, NBolton 12.94%, MDouthie 84.71%, NBennetts 1.18%
Section 4
Thomas Mitchell Shane Knott Cody Packer
Ric Shinnick Rick Buckle Tony Filear
Jeff Hewton Neville Costello TBA
Aaron Smith Nathan Smith Haydn Smith
Family Smith here, last years State Pairs winners have added Dad Haydn to the equation but they strike probably the favoured team for the title, Tom Mitchell, Shane Knott and Cody Packer who I think were the 3 skippers of last years sides series and they are obviously going to be very hard to topple.
My Selection - Tom Mitchell
TMitchell 90.59%, RShinnick 0%, JHewton 0%, ASmith 8.24%
Section 5
Marcus Simpson Cory Day Jack East
Arthur Bartlett Peter Coyle Bob Farrant
B Alp W Sarginson M Burgess
David Opie Stephen Patterson Blake Butler
The young guns headed up by Marcus Simpson may be a slight chance here, David Opie has a good side and should win but if they drop the ball then Jack East is a very good bowler and I watched him play so well in the Junior Singles a couple of months ago, he knows how to get around the kitty which helps so much with Triples.
My Selection - David Opie
MSimpson 14.12%, ABartlett 5.88%, BAlp 1.18%, DOpie 76.47%
Section 6
Anthony Williams Lee Such Steve Collins
Peter Turpin Gavin Ekholm Leone Fasolo
Ryan Moyle Brad White Gavin Faulkner
Blake Nairn Ryan Brown Mark Rollings
Gee whiz what a section here, moved to Bassendean at the last minute which will help the Blake Nairn led rink going back to his former club, Ryan Moyle and his rink quality but I will be going for the Anthony Williams led team, Lee Such and Steve Collins made a huge impression early but this is a cracker of a section, 2 wins could well win this one
My Selection - Anthony Williams
AWilliams 61.18%, PTurpin 0%, RMoyle 18.82%, BNairn 18.82%
Section 7
Brad Ball Chris Lander Russell Bates
Shane Smith Steve Cavanagh Shae Barter
Kevin McKay David Downey Brandon Heta
Wesley Neilson Trevor Vellios Peter Vellios
Brad Ball has teamed with some good ones here, leader hugely important in Triples and Russell Bates up there with the best and with his Everest win we saw how good form he was in. Kevin McKay part of the top side in PL and skippering well looks the main danger
My Selection - Brad Ball
BBall 83.53%, SSmith 10.59%, KMcKay 11.76%, WNeilson 1.18%
Section 8
Chris Margin Andy Elmer Drew Daley
Scott Walker Glenn Pauling Dale Marsland
Gary Caffell Kevin Pickering Grant Nicol
Alan Pryce Mark Ellis Andy Lill
Another really good section here, Chris Margin in really good with Drew Daley leading well but he strikes last years winners in Scott Walker, Glenn Pauling and Dale Marsland and all 3 players look like they are playing well again this year. But don't forget Gary Caffell who is always tough t knock off and Alan Pryce who drew so beautifully in the recent Masters Singles. Wowzers could really pick any of 4 and get it right. Going to go for the wily rink from Osborne Park
My Selection - Gary Caffell
CMargin 1.18%, SWalker 65.88%, GCaffell 29.41%, APryce 2.35%
Section 9
Scott Aungier Rhys Tillemans Jarad Weppner
Cliff Wooldridge Geoff Jones David Jones
Peter Gunness Gary Gregson Scott Palmer
Daniel Brown Daniel Trewhella Shane Loftus
Another fav for the title should win this section, Daniel Brown in super form at the moment and must be pushing for state selection again, Scott Aungier has teamed with a couple of guys formerly of Forrestfield who I think show some promise, but Brown and buddies Daniel Trewhella and Shane Loftus will be too good here
My Selection - Daniel Brown
SAungier 1.18%, CWooldridge 1.18%, PGunness 0%, DBrown 96.47%
Section 10
David Stanik David Snelgar Mathew Whitley
David Rankin Bill Brandsma Nick Regan
Matthew Mitchell Matthew Ayres Miles Kemp
Rob Foy Danny Comrie Tba
Phew another cracking section here and looks a race in 2, Matt Mitchell with Ayres and Kemp will take on David Rankin with Brandsma and Reagan. Dave Stanik and Rob Foy good players but have their work cut out for them against the other 2. but who to choose? i'll go for the mo bro
My Selection - David Rankin
DStanik 2.35%, DRankin 52.94%, MMitchell 42.35%, RFoy 1.18%
Section 11
Rod Cooper Ross Pringle Charlie Mckay
Bruce Eagles Brian Clausen Frank Tyson
Tod Weir John Carter Bruce Weir
Travis Lynch Wayne Davidson Paul Harber
Four very even teams here, Bruce Eagles kicking goals this year skippering in PL and has won some over 60's state titles, I'm going to show my bias here, I have seen Paul harber leading all year and he has been dynamite and as mentioned earlier, leaders are pivotal in Triples and he should set up Davidson and Travis Lynch all day.
My Selection - Travis Lynch
RCooper 10.59%, BEagles 62.35%, TWeir 7.06%, TLynch 18.82%
Section 12
Charlie Slavich Cory Bessant Wayne Rayner
Sam Perica Mick Marovic TBA
Ron Hutchinson Trevor Southern Shane Anning
Travis Simpson Daniel Newton David Newton
the first game of the morning may decide the winner here, Charlie Slavich more at home in Fours games I reckon but still an exceptionally good player teaming with ole mate Corey Bessant and Wayne Rayner who loves fast greens, and they will play Sam Perica who has skippering so well to date in the PL but unsure of his leader so will go for the Slavich led team
My Selection - Charlie Slavich
CSlavich 80%, SPerica 14.12%, RHutchinson 3.53%, TSimpson 1.18%
Section 13
Brad Cole Peter Cole Conor Biddle
Cam Hoffman Terry Cranswick Mitchell Cranswick
Dean Calvo Ryan Havercroft Geoff Bovell
Warwick Neville David Godfrey Mike Craig
Looks pretty even again for the first game of the morning between Brad Cole and Cam Hoffman. Hoffman part of the Mosman Park team witting on top of the White ladder at the moment pushing for PL status next year and he really can be a difficult player to top. Young Connor Biddle going to be a good player and Brad Cole also on the rise with some good wins this year
My Selection - Cam Hoffman
BCole 38.82%, CHoffman 54.12%, DCalvo 4.71%, WNeville 1.18%
Section 14
Marcus Sear Tim Hyatt Russell Tyrrell
Steve Wattleworth Brad Gillingham Richard Aitken
Blake Smith Aaron Smith Paul Smith
Mark Gill Peter Wachmer Matthew Ngui
More Smiths! Don't really know these ones very well and it's a pretty even section. All sides have solid leaders, good middle men and handy skippers, could see some very close scores and exciting games from this section. With no rhyme nor reason, will go for the Dudley Park trio
My Selection - Marcus Sear
MSear 37.65%, SWattleworth 36.47%, BSmith 15.29%, MGill 9.41%
Section 15
Jon Sharp Warren Holt Scott O'Brien
Stephen Fewster Peter Flack TBA
Stewart Gosstray Robbi Chalmers Mark Thomas
Peter Retallack Joe McGinlay Ed Retallack
Our final section, and another section with some good teams but the standout looks to be the Jon Sharp led side of fellow country bowlers, looks very steady and strong at every position.
My Selection - Jon Sharp
JSharp 92.94%, SFewster 2.35%, SGosstray 1.18%, PRetallack 2.35%
WomenThe temperature at this stage has been forecast for 39 degrees on Saturday. Upon reading the COP it seems that play will start and will continue until the temperature at your club reaches 37, then in accordance to duty of care, you will be called off. So remember ladies, bathe in sunscreen, drink plenty of water every end and remember that even if you might not be feeling the heat when it reaches 37, others might be so try not to grumble too much when you get called off the green. Happy bowling everyone!
Section 1
Birthe Rasmussen Judi Smailes Sue Thomas
Shaan Saunders Amanda Masters Julieanne Summers
Pat Boardman Liz Ritchie Karen Weir
Noelene Abe Lee Poletti Vicki Spragg
Welcome to the Ladies Triples, weren't we just playing the Pairs? Never mind, let's look at this first section. Noelene is never one to take lightly, her performance with Kerry Andersen in the Pairs last week has shown that, only put out by the eventual winners. Although the twins are are usually a strong team, Noelenes team will go through.
Hatties Selection - Noelene Abe
BRasmussen 1.18%, SSaunders 4.71%, PBoardman 0%, NAbe 84.71%
Section 2
Sian Smith Denise Kelly Jenny Parker
Kathy Gobbart Julie Watson Noeleen Keeffe
Pam Chalmers Helen Stevens Julie Savell
Bev Drakeford Bev Cotte Jenni McLaughlin
This section has stumped me a bit, many of the members of this one had a good Pairs showing so it's hard to pick out who might go through. It will possibly come down to percentage for the winner and I reckon the Gingin ladies will take it out.
Hatties Selection - Kathy Gobbart
SSmith 10.59%, KGobbart 25.88%, PChalmers 55.29%, BDrakeford 2.35%
Section 3
Janet Cocks Rhonda Prosser Deb Rhine
Vicky Ellis Isobelle Davies Jenny Alexander
Pauline Bourne Robyn Van Mossveld Coral Smith
Diane Hudson Sue Hogg Donita Davids
Right so we have a match up of sorts from last week, Izzy and Di battled it out in the knockout rounds, with Di taking the kudos. However, this time she is without her partner, Dot Glass, will that make a difference? Izzy also without her pairs partner so maybe this wipes the slate clean. All of the aside, I think Di Hudsons form will keep going, and with Dee Davids leading for her then anything could happen.
Hatties Selection - Di Hudson
JCocks 24.71%, VEllis 11.76%, PBourne 10.59%, DHudson 44.71%
Section 4
Liz Matthews Karina Gale Irene Arndt
Lisa Featherby Shari Solly Linda Warburton
Helen Hutton Toni Madigan Robin Higgins
Jaewyn Norton Wendy Stower Trish Cunningham
I think you probably have all noticed that I have a soft spot for the Featherby/Warburton match up and with the addition of Solly makes it all the more better. However the Arndt/Matthews match up is always formidable, and I certainly don't want to discount anyone else. Ah, who am I kidding, Featherby to get through.
Hatties Selection - Lisa Featherby
LMatthews 7.06%, LFeatherby 83.53%, HHutton 0%, JNorton 1.18%
Section 5
Valerie Still Kerry Rush Heather Pryce
Helen Morss Therese Hastings Helen Heal
Janet Millar Irene Grout Jenni Rogalski
Sandy Everett Lee-anne Green Lily Rughoobur
I'm afraid to say that the standouts here are the Morss team, some of the members are already through to the Australian Championships next year so they would want to get some more time on the greens over there. The Millar/Grout/Rogalski team will be giving them a run for their money however, but Morss will win out.
Hatties Selection - Helen Morss
VStill 0%, HMorss 90.59%, JMillar 0%, SEverett 1.18%
Section 6
Sandra Hemphill Kerry Reagan Wendy Davidson
Sue Neill Kay Gee Erica Andersson
Elizabeth Brooke Kerry Stephens Antonietta Gatti
Cathryn Daniel Larraine Heckingbottom Elaine Meehan
Well, a couple of names that I am not familiar with, I love it! It's great to see bowlers giving State games a go, no matter what level you are, the experience will help your bowls no end. I reckon the Leeming team will get through here.
Hatties Selection - Sue Neill
SHemphill 17.65%, SNeill 36.47%, EBrooke 34.12%, CDaniel 3.53%
Section 7
Lynette Colmer Jennie Bruce Alexandra Harris
Kaye Blackwell Kerry Andersen Rinske Butcher
Brooke Newstead Karen Miller Behl Hallam
BYE BYE BYE
Surely Kaye Blackwell is the chancer here, or will the Pairs win go to her head? She wouldn't be the first person to crash and burn at their next outing after a major win. However her team will keep her pretty grounded I reckon. As we all know, the BYE section is a little tougher, not as much wriggle room, and Lexi Harris had a pretty good Pairs campaign herself. Kaye will go through here, her team is pretty strong.
Hatties Selection - Kaye Blackwell
LColmer 2.35%, KBlackwell 83.53%, BNewstead 3.53%, BYE 0%
Section 8
Chris Ace-Watson Joanne Lancaster Anne Cashmore
Hailey Adams Jill Adam Kaitlin Tyrrell
Kristina Krstic Laura Merz Robyn O'Brien
BYE BYE BYE
Oooo, strong section here, anything could happen. Chris Ace-Watson had a wonderful time at the Pairs and she will be wanting to push that little bit further this time. There is no denying the strength in the Packer led team, and the Krstic led team are established team. Robyn missed out on being in the winning State Fours team this year, she will be wanting to get her own trip to the Championships again and this is where she can do it.
Hatties Selection - Kristina Krstic
CAce-Watson 0%, HAdams 4.71%, KKrstic 88.24%, BYE 0%
Section 9
Cheryl Simpson Tammy Hyatt Michelle Armstrong
Sally Wilke Nie Archer Lisa Smith
Renate Coote Maureen Cooney Shelley Radcliffe
BYE BYE BYE
I have had an N'Sync song in my head for the last half an hour, is that because of all the Bye Bye Byes? But I digress. Last up we have what I like to call 'The Mums' team, I know there are plenty of Mums in the tournament, but you get what I am saying. They are up against the Renate led team and quite frankly, it's a strong team. The Wilke skippered team are all in the State Squad and will be looking to make a splash, but unfortunately for them, I think their roadblock will be Renate.
Hatties Selection - Renate Coote
