OUTS: Bochat

Cockburn have got themselves into some difficulty at the half way point of the season and will need to work pretty hard if they are to get themselves out of the bottom 2 on the ladder come the end of the season. Not surprisingly Cockburn have played their best bowls at home this season and they will be a tough proposition on Saturday. However the Safety Bay side is a combative one and they will also fancy their chances in this match although their form line away from home has not been as convincing. I am going to select the home side to get home in a close one.
Cockburn 6-2

I did select South Perth as the team that could make a charge up the ladder in the 2nd half of the season and if that is to be the case they would need to be winning this fixture against Dalkeith. I like the look of their side although again no team available to consider when writing this review. The Dalkeith side looks reasonable on paper although they will need to make do without veteran Mike Zusman this week. Dalkeith did record a strong win at home in round 10 and they should go into this fixture with some confidence. I expect that they will hang with South Perth for much of the match but that in the end South Perth will get over the line in a close one.
South Perth 6-2

OUTS:

Huge match for Gosnells at home to kick of the 2nd half of the season. If they are to have any chance of getting out of the bottom 2 positions on the ladder they will need to start winning their home games and this is certainly one that they will have pencilled in. Rossmoyne after a promising run of form hit a brick wall in the form of Armadale in round 10 and an 8 nil defeat. Can they bounce back this week and record a critical away win. This is a real toss of the coin job made even harder by the fact that I cannot see the Rossmoyne team for this week’s fixture. The Rossmoyne form line away from home has in general been poor and on that basis I will select the home side to get the job done and their season off life support for the time being.
Gosnells 6-2

OUTS:

Match of the season status with the two best sides to this point in the season going head to head in round 11. Unfortunately no teams available at the time of writing this preview so hard to know whether either team has been affected by any player unavailability. On paper and at home Armadale look very strong and it should be noted that two of their skipper’s in Kevin McKay and Daniel Brown combined to reach the semi final stage of the state pairs just a week or so back. A fantastic achievement by both players and highlights the quality of players in Blue South. That said Kardinya are a sneaky good team with a lot of experience and will be hard to beat. But at home I need to go with the premiership favourites.
Armadale 7-1

Willetton v Rockingham

Willetton
John Porter, Mick Phillips, David Reynolds, Cameron Girvan
Mervyn Binning, Peter Bartoshefski, Ken Monkhouse, Alan Walters
Peter McSweeney, Susan Bartels, Trevor Thompson, Justin Wright
Nicholas Rogers, Barry Baker, Amanda Heiner, Gavin Dodge
INS: Reynolds, Heiner
OUTS: Calyun, Langley

Rockingham
Keith Fyles, Ashley McMahon, Kim Tremlett, Pietro Villa
Fred Smith, Terry Rubery, Victor Arriagada, Mark Devenny
Gregory Scott, Graeme Roberts, Bruce Edwards, Zac Boddy
Ivan Wright, Lance Parkhill, Stephen Mulhall, Bradley Cole
INS: Villa, Tremlett, Scott, Smith
OUTS: Simpson, Atkins, Threlfall, Wales

Important game to kick off round 11 for both teams. Willetton looking to put an end to a lean run of form and get themselves out of the bottom 2 on the ladder whilst Rockingham need to keep winning with the ultimate goal a top 3 finish and automatic promotion for next season. A few changes at the selection table for this week and of particular interest the unavailability of Marcus Simpson for Rockingham. A difficult match to predict but I am going to select the home side to record a much needed win at home.
Willetton 6-2
