Mount Lawley welcome the Brook Boys to the Mounting Yard in what shapes as a fascinating clash of form lines. Ellenbrook roll in off a solid home win last week, while the Mounters are licking their wounds after another brutal road trip. Big outs for Mount Lawley thanks to some movement up above, but they do get a boost with Guyren Robertson pulling on the whites for the first time this season after a few years in the wilderness.
In a season where the travel bug has been absolutely vicious, I’m backing the home deck to be the difference. The Men of the Mount to dig in, get back to basics and stay in touch with the top three.
Mount Lawley 7–1

Morley v Bassendean

Morley
Ross Dunstan, Wayne Mitchell, Les Spinks, Ian Eichfuss
Jason Deans, Warren Hinchliffe, Phillip Leyland, Andrew Elmer
Neil Minchin, Ian Goldsmith, Glenn Pinto, Christopher Bell
Robert Geikie, Shane Thomas, Gavin Grieve, Victor Orchard
INS: Mitchell, Deans
OUTS: Daffin, Erceg

Bassendean
Phillip Hutchinson, Brooke Chaney, Jovan Krstic, Grant Stokes
Norman Kirkup, Shane Colegate, Nolan Hall, Butch Dinnison
Gregory Sadler, Joel Hitchcock, Geoffrey Malaspina, Neil Strachan
Saffronne Alden, Nick Pleasance, Wayne Davidson, John Holman
INS: Sadler
OUTS: T Alden

Morley get the luxury of back-to-back home games after last week’s demolition of Mount Lawley. Confidence will be high, heads will be up and the rink selectors will be feeling like geniuses. They welcome the Lions, who pinched a home win last week — although only just — thanks to the heroics of Stokes.
Bassendean have been fighting the away demons like most teams this season, and Morley will fancy themselves to make it two on the bounce and start closing the gap to the mid-table pack.
Morley 6–2

Quinns Rocks v Warwick

Warwick

Gary Chappell, Dean Herbert, Allan Hornby, Sean Wright
Heath Berryman, Stephen Hurley, Ivan Sparrowhawk, Glenn Yabuka
INS: Wilson
OUTS: Archibald

The Maggies fly into the Cray Pot to take on a Quinns side who were well and truly humbled at Ellenbrook last week. Warwick, on the other hand, brought up the ton and posted a monstrous +50 shot margin against the Swans. They sit top of the table and look every bit the team to beat.
But… they’ve only managed one win away from home all season. Quinns, meanwhile, have won five on their own patch. Add in the fact Quinns haven’t quite lived up to pre-season hype and you’ve got a genuine coin flip. I’m going with the home side just to keep the ladder beautifully congested.
And if we get Wright vs Smith — strap in.
Quinns 6–2

Sorrento v Wanneroo

Brian Bucowski, Robert Burns, Glen Jack, Kingsley Toster
Gregory Sarich, Eckhard Widermanski, Harold Whitman, Pieter Geus
INS: Denny, Bucowski
OUTS: Nievelstein, Rayner

Sorrento are slipping faster than players in rubber studs on the Optus Stadium turf. The Roo Boys head south off a gritty win over the Knights and know a win here could almost have them sitting on top, depending on what Warwick do.
If Sorrento drop this one, they may as well start Googling the best lunch spots in second-division territory.
Wanneroo 6–2

Cambridge v Yanchep

Cambridge
Andrew Ness, Bruce Ride, David Phillips, Peter Easom
David Sladen, Lindsay Brown, Edward Leahy, Garry Hawkes
Mark James, Bruce Strang, Clifford Wooldridge, Stephen Buckley
Robert Gauntlett, Phillip McShane, Nicholas Parker, David Foulsham
INS: Phillips, Leahy, Strang
OUTS: Duncanson, Jones, Granger

Yanchep
Daniel Ellyard, Mark Jones, Chris Street, Patrick Daley
Neil Cank, David Hitchman, Teora Turua, Brody Dix
Leon Smith, Stephen Hyde, Tamara Arnold, Callum Arnold
Wayne Evans, John O'Brien, Anthony Passeretto, Daniel Hartzer
INS: Cank
OUTS: Drury

Third versus bottom on paper, but in a division where away wins are rare, this is far tighter than it looks. Cambridge were competitive away at Wanneroo last week, while Yanchep were unlucky not to knock over the Lions — settling for three points.
The Knights have jagged a couple of handy home wins this season, including Mount Lawley a few weeks back, but I reckon Yanchep might sneak this and tighten their grip on a top-three spot.
Yanchep 6–2
