Interesting match this one with a lot riding on the outcome. Safety Bay has started the season well and is sitting in 5th place on the ladder with a handy 5 point buffer over Dalkeith sitting in 6th place. Win this match at home and that gap widens even further for the bottom sides. Safety Bay will go into this one as warm favourites however Dalkeith after a slow start seem to be getting back to their best form and they will be no pushover on the weekend. The way to make ground on the ladder is to win away from home and this is what Dalkeith will be aiming for. Can they do it, I don’t think so as Safety Bay has been consistent in every game this season and they should come away with the points.
Safety Bay 6-2

Match of the round with the clash of 2 top 4 sides. A couple of weeks back I would have almost declared Rockingham at home but they have got the wobbles up over the past 2 weeks after a surprise loss at home and then a defeat at Dalkeith last week. South Perth playing well and sitting just above Rockingham on the ladder. They will know how important this game is for their season and a win on the road is not beyond them. They will be getting the Range Rovers and the Jaguars well serviced this week in preparation for the trip to Rockingham. But who to select – this should be close and it might come down to which Skippers can play the big bowls when required and will go with the home side.

Rossmoyne back in the winner’s circle for the first time last week and they looked to dominate on paper. So whilst Mayor Lang would have been tempted to get the champagne out post game he is too experienced for that and will know that more is required if they are going to dig themselves out of a pretty big hole. Kardinya sitting just half a point off top spot and they will be very pleased with themselves at this point in the season. There is some talk that the Kardinya swagger could be back but they would be wise not to underestimate the Mayor and his troops when they are backed into a corner. This could be closer than ladder positions suggest but will tip the home side to come away with the points.
Kardinya 7-1

Another game that looks to be a bit of a mismatch on paper with top of the table Armadale taking on lowly Cockburn. However, Cockburn at home grow a leg and with mercurial skipper Dinko Golem back they may well sniff an upset. Golem who has played for the Croation national side loves following his bowls to the head particularly when he is on top and has been known to wear a GPS that tells him how much territory he actually covers in a match. Despite the home ground advantage it is hard to go past the class of Armadale and I expect them to come away with a pretty good win on the weekend and retain top spot on the ladder.
Armadale 7-1

Two teams who are in the bottom 4 on the ladder and who both desperately need a win in this one. Willetton trying to end a form slump whilst Gosnells yet to really get their season going. This is going to be a tricky one to select although Gosnells did show a bit in a narrow loss to Armadale last week. Willetton pretty much thrashed at home in what was probably their worst performance since coming back into one blue from last season. They seemed to have lost their mojo and a trip to Gosnells is probably not the place to get it back. I think Gosnells can take this in what should be a very close match.
