Sorry I don't think we'll get to fire up the predictor machine in time for R7 but we can try to capture in the review over the weekend. Strangely after 6 rounds only 40% of the division have actually played 6 games, so it’s become tricker to understand the premeditations. Nothing that R7 actually has 5 full games this Sat, go figure, it’s like the good auld days again.
Mosman Park v Joondalup

Mark Whiting, Klaire Hughes, Terry Cranswick, Matthew Jones
Aidan O'Sullivan, Brian Vidovich, Damian Adams, Mitchell Cranswick
Jason Kop, John Pallett, Marcus Ayres, Mark Robertson
Jennifer Parker, Jeffrey Adams, Christine Ace-Watson, Steven Swanson
INS: Jones
OUTS: Featherby

Joondalup
Martin Cheesman, Eugene Dardengo, Michael Korycin, James Buchanan
Charlie Harrison, Paul Kain, Graeme Walker, James Groves
Harry Teeuwissen, Steven Daly, Mark Ryan, Matt Sharrett
Frank Tyson, Richard Wyatt, Glenn Oakley, Thomas Vlahos
INS: Walker, Teeuwissen, Daly
OUTS: Ingham, McMurdo, Hunter

7th v 8th where both sides were easy picks for top 4 over the years. Both are weaker than before & it’s starting to show. Yes there’s only 3.5pts between both sides but Mossies have played a full game less. Look for any team to be 1 from 6 is obviously concerning so the Dolphins clearly know what’s on the line. A good win here gets them a soft run to Christmas which could turn their season. Mossies are coming off a week off so hopefully they’ll be hitting practice because if they come out slow they’ll be in trouble. Nothing here heading into a double header next week will unwind any good work to date.

Manning v Kalamunda

Jared Moulton, Shane Adams, Glenn Lynch, William Fraser
Jason Titheradge, Mervyn Shemeld, Richard Schinzig, Alan Heal
Nigel Rees, Philip Herbert, Joe Angel, Adam Macpherson
Mark Ellis, Sharon Lynch, Slavko (Sam) Perica, Paul Smith
INS: Titheradge, Schinzig, Perica
OUTS: B Hogg, L Butler, G Hogg

Kalamunda
Michael Byrne, Bob Farrant, Trevor Price, Frank Carbone
Vincent Hughes, Simon Maddy, Andrew Brandsma, William Brandsma
Neil Gill, Gary McDonald, Shari Solly, Gregory Trevaskis
Robert Chalmers, Mark Gill, David Park, Dwayne Wooltorton
INS: Carbone
OUTS: Smeeton

The Eagles sit 3rd but they’ve tapped out on the 6 games to date but the Cougars are 6pts behind with a game in hand so a win for Kalamunda probably gets them into the top 4. After a brief early post pennant flag hangover the Eagles are back into the top 4 & finding their mojo. The Cougars have done well away this season so they’ll be not without a chance but hard to go against the home side who are building over the last few weeks.

OUTS: McKay

9th v 10th with both sides beaten like a good scrambled egg over the first 6 rounds. Hard to see any positives from this other than only 1 side will be winless after this game. Even with a win for either it likely doesn’t move them from relegation zone bowls. So serious soul searching for both sides here but whoever shows with the greatest intent will likely take this one. Whoever loses this I’m happy to call it, they’re gone. Early call but I’m sticking by it, even the R6 predictions over the last few years. Good luck to both in a tough game.

INS: No changes
OUTS:

North v North in 4th v 2nd. The Pioneers are nailing it yet still have only played the 5 games. Same for North Beach being 3pts ahead & probably only for the Bay they would be top of the bus. Super exciting to see how this plays out as both sides are playing great bowls & high on confidence. I feel matchups will fe critical here, Kay v Douthie would be a blockbuster. Who wouldn’t pay good dollars to see the only 2 unbeaten skippers go head to head with best man standing who takes the throne atop of the skippers ladder….make it happen!!!

GAME OF THE ROUND: easily 2 of top 4 going head to head will always bring the pressure of finals. In saying that it’s officially 5th v 1st with the Kats getting mauled by the Cougars recently & sitting 5th & playing 6 probably isn’t a top 4 conversation. That’s why this is game of the week by miles. We’re Kats to lose this at home, being home track bullies, reduces their cloak of invincibility by a huge margin. The Bay are the only unbeaten side this season & in many cases are a full game ahead of the leading pack. A win here would make it very very difficult for the predictor AI machine to not see them with a clean run back to the big dance. This will be a cracker & I’ve less confidence after realising that after 5 games The Bay have 34pts…yes that’s 34 from 40 available pts, thus on average they lose about 1pt per game!!! Hold onto your hats folks, this is a tipping point.
