Two teams in the bottom 4 on the ladder and both desperately in need of a win. One change for Gosnells and a modest 4 changes this week from the Cockburn selectors. The Cockburn chairperson always a busy man on a Monday afternoon post the selection meeting – he must have patience and diplomacy in spades. But who to select to win this one – Gosnells must start as favourites at home and they will never get a better chance to win and get their season back on track. Cockburn has a pretty settled back end with skippers Gibson, Wyllie and Brotherston all in good form. This should be a close one and I am going to select the home side to score the points.
Rockingham
Keith Fyles, Ashley McMahon, Lindsay Atkins, Marcus Simpson
Ivan Wright, Lance Parkhill, Stephen Mulhall, Bradley Cole
Steven Wales, Ross Galbraith, Pietro Villa, Mark Devenny
Terry Rubery, Graeme Roberts, Bruce Edwards, Zac Boddy INS: Villa, Boddy, Roberts OUTS: Arriagada, Tremlett, Smith
Match of the round with 2 top 4 sides going at it with top spot pretty much on the line. Some talented back end players in this one and it will be great to see Simpson, Cole, Devenny and Boddy taking on Brown, Gosstray, Gollan and Mckay. This battle will go a long way to determining the outcome of this match. A couple of weeks back Rockingham looked in the sort of form that could test Armadale but it looks to me that Armadale at home will have a touch too much class and should end up winning this one.
Armadale 7-1
Willetton v Kardinya

Kardinya

Michael West, Brian Wright, Dave Wood, Stephen Vinci
Brenda Juett, Les Phillips, Conn Vinci, Aaron Gale INS: Vriezen, Gale, Brannan OUTS: Lee, Knapp, Stower
Not quite match of the round but certainly has the status of the most interesting match of the round. Willetton bounced back strongly last week after a brief form slump whist Kardinya suffering a hammering away from home last week at Rossmoyne. What to make of this one – an absolute 50/50 match and while Kardinya looks a superior side on paper Willetton like nothing more than a dog fight at home and they should take this one at home over the weekend.
Willetton 6-2
Dalkeith Nedlands v Rossmoyne
Dalkeith Nedlands
Todd Allen, Matthew Green, Aleksander Gryta, Michael Yates
Jeffrey Irwin, Michael Zusman, Andrew Foster, Martin Saunders
Michael Joyce, David Fitzgerald, Mark Lindsay, Jesse Brown
Rob Kelly, Simon Gazia, Rob Moran, Darren Redeckis INS: Gryta OUTS: Jeanes
Another big match here with both sides currently sitting in the bottom 4 on the ladder. Rossmoyne after a terrible start to the season have won there past 2 and looking a lot more confident. Dalkeith seemingly competitive in every match but struggling to get the wins on the board. It looks like Mayor Lang might be missing for this one and this will certainly make the Rossmoyne task that much more difficult. Another tough one to select but despite some strong recent form from Rossmoyne am going to select Dalkeith at home.
Dalkeith 6-2
South Perth v Safety Bay

Max Petrich, Michael McRae, Lisa Brannan, Farley Anderson
Kenneth Pride, Gary Bennett, Tony Percival, Wayne Bezant
Geoffrey Bovell, Gregory Reagan, David Mortley, Neale Griffin INS: Skuza, D Reagan OUTS: Dawson, Urquhart
Safety Bay

Lynne Brodie, Damian Kitson, Geoffrey Burgess, David Holt
Peter Gilkinson, Paul Daynes, Scott Gallon, Steven Adams
Faye Capewell, Barry Shackles, Bruce McLean, Raymond Kennedy INS: Kitson, Brodie OUTS: Hall, Rebelo
South Perth will go in as warm favourites in this one but Safety Bay has been very good so far this season and they will push South Perth all the way. South Perth will class and experience on every line typified by the partnership of Petrich and McRae. I expect that no front end combo in blue south has more games played than these two. Skipper Farley Anderson who is no spring chicken himself must be licking his lips every time he sees these two approach the mat. And then you add names like Reagan, Percival, Pride, Mortley and Griffin in your side and it is hard to see South Perth losing this one.
