The Mounters roll into the Cray Pot looking to prove they can actually travel without getting seasick. Quinns were everyone’s smoky in October, but a few wobbles later and they’re sitting mid table — close enough to be dangerous, far enough away to feel uncomfortable. The Mounters are flying at home but have been about as effective on the road as a chocolate teapot. Morris gets the PL call-up, Bowden steps in, and the rest remain steady. Really tough tip here — Quinns solid at home, Mounters still haunted by that Knights loss a fortnight back. I’ll back the Crays in a tight, gritty one.

A fascinating one on the coast as the Swans host the Mavericks. Sorrento have had more departures than Perth Airport lately, which makes this a real test of depth and spirit. The Mavs, meanwhile, are circling with intent after a strong home win over the Knights — and will sniff blood after seeing the Swans get dismantled by the Mounters by 60 shots last week. A month ago this was a sure thing for Sorrento. Now? Chaos, uncertainty, and a big fat opportunity for Morley. I’ll back the upset.

Clear game of the round. The ladder-leading Magpies head north into the Rose Garden, a place where visiting teams go to wither and perish. Yanchep have been on a demolition tour at home, stacking big aggregates and big reputations. Warwick have tasted defeat just once, and they’ll fancy being the first side to pluck a rose this season. Street drops back to fit Daley in, and Yanchep now boast four genuine match-winning skips on their own turf. Warwick are elite, but the Roses at home? Different beast
Yanchep 7-1

If we’re being honest, this isn’t setting the pulses racing. Both clubs are staring up a mountain made of brick walls, stacked divisions and in-form mid-table sides. Ellenbrook did grab a timely win last week and absolutely must pinch this one if they want to avoid the automatic drop. Cambridge are a full aggregate behind and defeat here basically punches their ticket to Div 2. They did knock off the Mounters at Winterfell recently, which gives me just enough confidence to tip them again
Cambridge 6-2

A ripper between 3rd and 4th. The Roos were pecked, poked, harassed and absolutely terrorised by the Magpies last week — leaving the Nest with a donut and not much else. Bassendean, meanwhile, flexed again with a 7-1 thumping of Quinns. Form says Basso, stats say Basso, the eye test says Basso… but Wanneroo at home is a different assignment. They’ve lived comfortably in the top 3 all season for a reason. With nothing but home-ground logic to hang my hat on, I’ll lean the Roos.
