Welcome to R2. Early stages but some markers have been laid in R1 with some sides having big wins & starting the season with big percentages. It does feel like they’ll be a big focus on home track bullies this season so let’s keep an eye on home wins to track trends.

Mosman Park v North Perth

Mosman Park
John Pallett, Robert Kershaw, Mark Robertson, Cameron Hoffman
Aidan O'Sullivan, Brian Vidovich, Damian Adams, Mitchell Cranswick
Jennifer Parker, Jeffrey Adams, Christine Ace-Watson, Lisa Featherby
Mark Whiting, Steven Swanson, Marcus Ayres, Terry Cranswick
INS: Swanson
OUTS: Kop

North Perth
Tommy Doleman, Michael Lake, Markus Merz, Mark Barrett
Adam Biffen, Ruby Leggett, Sally Wilke, Len Caistor
Jeremy Matthews, Richard Newstead, Benjamin Horwood, Anthony Kay
Mathew McEwen, Brett Havercroft, Chris McKenna, Todd Hampshire
INS: Biffen
OUTS: Thomas

Mossies probably need to make their home track a little more of a fortress. They do ok on the road but dropping too many home games cost them dearly last season & they need a quick start to wipe away the memories of last weeks dressing down at the Kats.
For the new Pioneering folks, the home win last week provided great confidence but an away win will challenge the former 1 Blue side. A win here for North Perth would see them as genuine finals contenders & it’s a game they could easily win & will need some away wins which will unlikely occur at Kats or North Beach so these games are important. Mossies should edge this one but I feel it’s by single digit margin.
Mosman Park 6 - 2

Joondalup v Kalamunda

Joondalup
Charlie Harrison, Matthew Ingham, Paul Kain, James Groves
Harry Teeuwissen, Steven Draper, Richard Wyatt, Thomas Vlahos
Brian McMurdo, Steven Daly, Jon Hunter, Matt Sharrett
Martin Cheesman, Eugene Dardengo, Michael Korycin, James Buchanan
INS: Teeuwissen, Draper, Vlahos, Walker
OUTS: Urquhart, Garlick, Tyson, Buchanan

Kalamunda
Neil Gill, Bob Farrant, Trevor Price, Frank Carbone
Mark Thomas, Gary McDonald, Shari Solly, Mark Gill
Robert Chalmers, Wayne Olive, David Park, Dwayne Wooltorton
Vincent Hughes, Simon Maddy, Andrew Brandsma, William Brandsma
INS: Chalmers, Park
OUTS: Trevaskis, Byrne

After last weeks no show it’s difficult to get excited about the Dolphins. Yes they’ll probably be hard to beat at home but not impossible for the Cougars.
Looks like Jimmy is back for Joondalup & Bill might have some jet lag from the Suns heroics at BPL 22, so advantage Dolphins.
I do think the home side are a solid bet but not driving massive confidence, this one will be tight.
Joondalup 7 - 1

Kardinya v Victoria Park Carlisle

Victoria Park Carlisle
Heath Middelbosch, Phil Long, Patrick Keeffe, Jonathan Jermalinski
John Hiskins, Aiden Sear, Gregory Williams, Geoffrey White
Pieter Neethling, Kynan Johnston, Gary Beckwith, Ric Gilbert
Charles McKay, James Parry, Michael Adams, Michael Simms
INS: Johnston, Parry
OUTS: Such, M White

Unsure if this will 7-1 or 8-0 but either way it’s likely double scores unless the Reds can turnaround last weeks form at North Beach. It’s a very tough start for the Reds with the first 2 games away & both against 2 home track bullies. Probably even tougher with Suchy out so there’s a fair chance Kats will blow a 100 here.
The Kats will likely go top of the ladder after this round & winning all home games will naturally get themselves very close to Finals with a good look at getting a chance to go back to PL.

Osborne Park v North Beach

Osborne Park
Yvonne Trotter, Julieanne Summers, Bryan Hunter, Mark Rollings
Laurence Scott, George Smith, Pierre Geenacker, Neville Stevens
Aaron Kriletich, Michael Steen, Gordon King, John Berecz
Jarrad Minchin, Graeme O'Neill, Helen Stevens, Pamela Chalmers
INS: Minchin
OUTS: Adu

North Beach
Brent Fielding, Lee Bunney, Rhonda Prosser, Mark Douthie
Jerome Clayton, Garry Booker, Chris Margin, Gavin Crosthwaite
Peter Merritt, Luke Bolton, Geoffrey Devenish, Michael Sweeney
Brent Palfrey, Tyrell Stanley Brown, Paul Butler, Joe McGinlay
INS: Brown
OUTS: Richards

The Saints should bounce back from last weeks loss at home but North Beach were very strong last week & are very aware that 3 away wins probably gets them back to PL.
Saints away record isn’t too fab so they’ll need to get these home wins on the board quickly especially with R3 been at the Kats, they can’t afford a 0-3 start.
Osborne Park 7 - 1

Manning v Safety Bay

Manning

OUTS:

Safety Bay
Jim Hanafee, Irene Arndt, Robert Parr, Chris Carruthers
Sripaiwan (Keay) Buttanu, Scott Foran, Peter Webster, Grant Taylor
Alan Andersson, Christopher Owen, Lexie Webster, Graeme Smith
Debbie Smith, Damian Kitson, Aaron Smith, Stephen Hide
INS: No change
OUTS:

The tops dogs got taught a lesson last week in expectations when caught off guard by the newbies Pioneers. They’ll need a big win here to restore confidence.
The Bay have been ok away, close without getting the finishes over the last few ends. They couldn’t of impressed more last week putting Joondalup to the sword early so they’ll be giving themselves every chance here & Manning have dropped a few homes games last season so expect a tight on but the Eagles should finish strong.
Manning 7 - 1
