Some tired bodies will emerge on Sunday morning for a 10am kick off to Round 3. Let’s see who might be able to dig deep and come away with the points in what should help to start deciding who are the contenders and who are the pretenders.
Armadale v Dalkeith Nedlands
Armadale
David Newton, Anthony Monson, Daniel Newton, Kevin McKay
Paul Thomas, Timothy Bell, Chadd Hunt, Eddie Gollan
Trevor Southern, Nicholas Lewis, Belinda Lehman, Stewart Gosstray
-, Doddy Innes, Cameron Wilson, Daniel Brown INS: OUTS:
Dalkeith Nedlands
Michael Joyce, Michael Zusman, Andrew Foster, Michael Yates
Rob Kelly, Simon Gazia, Rob Moran, Darren Redeckis
Peter Jeanes, David Fitzgerald, Mark Lindsay, Jesse Brown
Jeffrey Irwin, John McCormack, Matthew Green, Martin Saunders INS: OUTS:
It is a Sunday and if I were Dalkeith I would stop off on the way at Church for a morning service and get the prayers started early. Armadale back at home and with star skipper Daniel Brown back from his pre season fishing excursion will be hard to toss. Some great recruits and quality wherever you look this Armadale side looks headed for higher honours. Dalkeith can at times be mercurial but not today and expect an easy victory for Armadale.
Armadale 7-1
Willetton v South Perth
Willetton
Rhonda Porter, Peter Bartoshefski, David Reynolds, Cameron Girvan
Peter McSweeney, Mervyn Binning, Ken Monkhouse, Alan Walters
Nicholas Rogers, Mick Phillips, Trevor Thompson, Justin Wright
John Porter, Barry Baker, Michael Brooks, Gavin Dodge INS: OUTS:
Another interesting clash. Willetton like most sides seem to grow a leg at home and they will start favourites in this one. But South Perth away at Dalkeith on Saturday and now away at Willetton for Sunday will really have to dig deep. I like the look of the South Perth side and can see them taking it right up to Willetton but expect to see the home team win in a close one.
Willetton 6-2
Gosnells v Kardinya
Gosnells
Kevin Cragan, Larry Paterson, Maureen Cooney, -
David Bradbury, Michael Sharpe, Mark Beauchamp, Rue Bishop
Ian Quayle, Kevin Ashman, Peter Gale, Eoghan Gahan
Nicolaas Vanderplank, Trevor Auckland, Michael Rickard, Brett Holland INS: OUTS:
Another very tough match to call. Both teams defeated in Round 1 and with tough fixtures the day before. Normally favour the home side in these situations as Kardinya not with a great away record. But am going to go with an upset and select Kardinya in a close one again.
Kardinya 6-2
Cockburn v Rossmoyne
Cockburn
Giuseppi Reale, John Ravlich, Denis Bandy, Kelli Wray
Viktor Dropulic, Greg Collier, Giuseppi Galipo, Mark (Sydney) Game
Hal Chambers, Ian Coyne, John Wray, James Wylie
Tom King, Robin Gowland, Derek Gibson, Brett Parker INS: OUTS:
I expect a win from Rossmoyne at home the day before so they should head to Cockburn with some momentum. Cockburn on the other hand face a tough away fixture after a shock loss in Round 1 at home. Could be a lot at stake in this one but until Rossmoyne start to show some form on the road I will go with the home side narrowly.
Cockburn 6-2
Rockingham v Safety Bay
Rockingham
Keith Fyles, Tony Threlfall, Ross Galbraith, Lindsay Atkins
Ivan Wright, Lance Parkhill, Stephen Mulhall, Bradley Cole
Steven Wales, Victor Arriagada, Pietro Villa, Mark Devenny
Malcolm Wilson, Terry Rubery, Graeme Roberts, Bruce Edwards INS: OUTS:
Safety Bay
Peter Gilkinson, Tadeusz Bochat, Paul Imrie, Raymond Clark
Barry Shackles, Brett Duffield, Geoffrey Burgess, Ron Hall
David Smith, Paul Daynes, Scott Gallon, Steven Adams
Lynne Brodie, Anthony Ballard, Bruno McVicar, Raymond Kennedy INS: OUTS:
Rockingham with back to back home fixtures – not sure how they negotiated this but understand that Pieter Harris sends his thanks for a kilo of prawns and a crayfish that arrived during the week. On paper Rockingham look too strong however if Safety Bay win at home on Saturday we could well have 2 undefeated teams going at it on Sunday. Safety Bay making a good fist of it but this could prove to be a bridge too far on Sunday at Rockingham
