Kardy back to their best last week with a strong away win at Thornlie. Yet to see their team this week but they will go in as very warm favourites at home against Forrestfield. The team they put out last week looked strong on paper and they will be keen to chase down Kalamunda and grab that top position. Forrestfield are always competitive and go in with one change this week. They will hang in for a while but at home Kardinya should be too strong and will record a comfortable victory.
Kardinya 7-1

A big game for both teams. Pre season this would have been a 50/50 match up however the recent form of Warnbro has been very poor. That said I am pretty sure that Warnbro did get the better of Kalamunda at home last season so anything is possible. But the Kalamunda side seems very settled and they look determined to make amends for a disappointing end to last season. If Warnbro can hang in early they will give themselves a chance but I expect that the class of Kalamunda will get them home in the end.
Kalamunda 6-2

Match of the round for mine - two teams recently promoted to First Division and both doing particularly well. This is the 2nd season up in Div 1 for Rockingham and they are pushing hard for that top spot. With young Currie back in this week and running hot they will be tough to beat at home. The Simpson/Currie combination is a tough one to toss although Willetton are a focused determined team and they will go in all guns blazing at Rockingham. Led by Cameron Girvan and 3 other very capable skippers they will fight all the way but in the end Rockingham should be too strong.

Cockburn going for the record for the most number of changes in any one week with a whopping 5 changes to the team this week. Cockburn appear to be adopting a resting policy in an effort to keep senior players fresh from one week to the next but perhaps the selectors forgot that we all had the week off last Saturday. One player who does not need a rest is the indefatigable Steve Srhoy. The champ last missed a game for the birth of his first child but it was under considerable protest. Will it back fire on them this week against bottom of the ladder Dalkeith. Dalkeith need to start winning and it needs to start this Saturday. They look to be competitive each week but are having trouble sticking the nose out at the finish. I think this could be the week and am tipping them for a close win.
Dalkeith 6-2

Another must win for both teams as they both strive to keep out of the drop zone come the end of the season. Thornlie would have been disappointed to drop one at home last week and will be trying to make amends on Saturday. Rossmoyne badly need the win and will be expecting a strong showing on the weekend. Pre game there is likely to be a group of nervous Thornlie skipper’s in the lead up to the card draw. None will be wanting to draw the Rossmoyne talisman Mayor Rawley Land. The week before Lang performed exceptionally well in the state singles including an impressive victory over Premier League skipper Glen Pauling. He can be prone to reflect on previous glories and provide a blow by blow review of his finer moments and this can be difficult for any opposing skipper. Despite this I do feel that this could be Rossmoyne’s moment and expect them to record a strong victory.
