A must win game for both teams. Cockburn trying to get themselves out of the bottom 4 on the ladder need to be winning their home games. Armadale’s loss last week has given Kardinya a sniff again of finishing top of the ladder and they will be keen to win this one and keep the pressure on. Cockburn seem to grow a leg at home but another 4 changes this week make it hard as they never seem to have a settled side. The Kardinya side looks good on paper and I expect that in a close one they will prove a touch too strong for the home side and come away with the points.
Kardinya 6-2
Rockingham v Rossmoyne

Steven Wales, Victor Arriagada, Pietro Villa, Mark Devenny INS: Boddy OUTS: Simpson
Difficult one to predict and again both sides with a lot to play for. Rockingham still in line for a top 3 finish although the loss of Marcus Simpson this week is a big out for them. Rossmoyne back in good form over recent weeks after a slow start to the season however they do need to keep winning to keep themselves out of the bottom 4. The home side will go in as favourites but this game will be closer than perhaps a lot of people will be expecting particularly now that Simpson is out. However in the end the home ground advantage should be enough to carry Rockingham to a narrow victory and keep their top 3 hopes alive.
Rockingham 6-2

A must win game here for Gosnells against fellow bottom 4 side Dalkeith if they are to give themselves a chance of surviving Div 1 Blue into next season. Gosnells will need to put their best foot forward and at home they will give themselves a real chance in this one as they have been very competitive on their home deck throughout the season. But Dalkeith will go into this one feeling pretty confident after an upset win over ladder leader, Armadale last week. They will also be buoyed by the return of the “Little Master” Mike Zusman who returns in his familiar leaders position. They also need to keep winning to give themselves the best opportunity of getting out of the bottom 4 and whilst winning away from home is always difficult I think Dalkeith can take the points in this one.
Dalkeith 6-2

Our match of the round between 2 teams that went at it in Div 2 last season and they are now fighting it out in Div 1 Blue. Last season it was South Perth who came out on top however the tables have been turned this year with Armadale now looking the goods. Armadale will have been stung by a surprise loss last week away at Dalkeith and will be keen to get back to their best form as soon as possible. They welcome back Dan Newton this week and he will re join his brother David in the rink to be skippered by leading skipper Kevin McKay. All the club is waiting on now is for their other brother Isaac to start playing bowls and they would have a very strong rink. On paper they look too strong for the South Perth side who have been forced into making 3 changes this week. At home I need to go with Armadale and I expect them to walk away with a pretty comfortable win.
Armadale 7-1

Safety Bay will go into this one as the favourites at home where they have a very good record this season. Maybe it’s the long drive down or the tricky playing conditions but they don’t lose to many at home . Willetton welcome back Cameron Girvan and he will make a big difference to their chances of coming away with an upset win. The Safety Bay side has been very steady in their output this season whereas Willetton’s form has been very much up and down. It is that consistency combined with the home ground advantage that should see Safety Bay win this one on the weekend.
