The Roos welcome the top-of-the-table Mounters in what promises to be an absolute corker to kick off the round. Wanneroo nabbed two points last week at Quinns, while Mount Lawley made light work of the Maggies at home — barely breaking a sweat, barely spilling a pint.
The Roos lose Griffin and Binnie, replaced by Rayner and Bryson. For Mount Lawley, Billy MVP Kimber retains his spot after last week’s masterclass and is joined by the returning Morris (back at 2) and Cottier, reclaiming his rink after a brief sabbatical.
If Wanneroo get up here, it’ll prove this division is wide open (give or take a couple of sides). But a Mount Lawley win would all but stamp them as premiership favourites. They haven’t travelled well this year, but it feels like their moment to make a statement. And if the State prospect finds his groove, it could get ugly.

Warwick copped their first bruise of the season courtesy of the Mounters, while Morley finally woke up and grabbed a win against the Brook. The Maggies will be keen to keep their nest safe and their feathers unruffled.
Morley, meanwhile, are a bit like that mate who plays one good game of pool and starts talking about going pro — let’s see it again, lads. With their only win coming against the bottom side, they’ll need more than enthusiasm to rattle a Warwick team that’s 3–1 and still perched nicely.

Now here’s a beauty. A top-four clash featuring two sides in pretty good form
Yanchep took a round to find their rhythm, but they’ve been humming since: two wins at home and a gritty draw away at Sorrento. Quinns, meanwhile, are flying high in second and looking like genuine contenders.
The headline act? Hartzer vs Smith — both undefeated after four rounds. It’s the kind of matchup you’d pay admission for, if bowls didn’t already come with free seating and bar access.
Yanchep will beat most mid-table sides at home, but Quinns have the experience, the depth to go into this game not overly concerned. With Daley missing for Yanchep, that might tip the scales. Still, don’t rule out the home side pinching a couple.
Quinns 6-2

The Knights are 0–4 and sitting around their round table wondering if there’s a spell to reverse form slumps. The once-proud fortress is crumbling faster than a half time scone, with their PL side decimated and the fallout obvious. Lord Bolton and his men need to find some new tactics quickly, or it might be an early surrender to Division 2.
Sorrento, on the other hand, are quietly effective — a solid draw last week against Yanchep keeps them in third. Dunstan continues to shine bright, undefeated and carrying the crew on his back. With no Cambridge skip winning more than once this season, it’s hard to see their fortunes improving.
Sorrento 7–1

Another interesting game as the Lions travel to the Valley. Ellenbrook needs to win their home games to have any chance of staying up this year and after getting 0 against Sorrento and then 7 against Mount Lawley, who the hell knows that to expect from them
Bassendean have scalped Morley and Cambridge, which sounds good until you remember those sides aren’t exactly striking fear into hearts right now. Ellenbrook at home, though, are a different beast — especially after mauling Mount Lawley a few rounds back.
Basso haven’t shown enough yet to give me the confidence to tip them at a venue that’s tricky to play at and I don’t think even the big mits of Krstic will be enough to grab hold of them. Expect a tight one, but I’m backing the home side.
