We’ll play this round & then R6 next week & then we’ve 1/3 through the last longest season in bowls history.
We still have 2 sides on duck eggs but only 1 side remains unbeaten. The skippers ladder is more interesting for some as only 3 skippers remain unbeaten & you’d think that’ll come down to 2 given the fixtures this round.

The Saints obviously already played this to align with the Friday night game for their PL side but lost to Manning by 2 shots.
The Saints are midway of the longest purple run in 1 White history with 4 in a row at home. The only problem is they’ve lost the first 50% & if they lose the next 50%, I won’t even waste my time putting them into the AI Predictor Machine, they’re simply gone.

Coming in R1 I’d say the Dolphins have a solid chance of a good Agg here but what the last month has evidenced is that Joondalup are simply not that good. Competitive in parts but so massive gaps.
The Pioneers are rocking like it’s 1907. Losing only 1 game & loving life hanging out with the big wigs. Yes they also have PL North Thursday but there’s really not a direct comparison but yet they’ve holding some of the same side across Thursday & Saturday but there’s some big players come in for Sat making their stamp on 1 White. With Kay & the Hampster in the top 10 on skippers ladder. The 1 man not looking at the skippers ladder to see if he’s top 10 is Caistor but every week is an opportunity with a good chance to bounce back here. Garlick might also be out with similar record but it’s the time of the season when stats start to over ride excuses. Sometimes bowls ain’t fun when you’re not winning, we’ve all been there & that’s ok.
North Perth 7 - 1

The Kats are 1pt off top spot & it’s difficult to not see them there for most of the season. The cougars are running 50/50 & I’m unsure if this round will increase that percentage.
Given that after this round the Kats will likely be +200% they’ll have a ridiculous advantage for most of the season. Let’s be honest, nobody is besting 200% which gives Kats a huge advantage.

Mosman Park v Victoria Park Carlisle

Mossies have a chance to get their season back on track & this could be a golden opportunity which if they take everyone will say it was a given but if they lose it’ll be horrific for their season.
Playing a bottom winless side is easy to call on paper but harder to deliver in reality. Have zero doubt that the Reds will be firing from the 1st end fighting for that 1st win but they have a few big outs which is concerning. The Reds won’t go down easy here but will need a huge effort to roll Mossies.
GAME OF THE ROUND: The Beach Boys are top 3 for genuine reasoning & there’s little to say they won’t be there in March. They’ve done what’s needed even after a few changes each week.
Can’t see this game not been a barometer for the season. These 2 are top now & likely tough to knock off dor the season. Both with varying degrees of PL experience but with this comes some conditions that both teams are not ge same now as before. Irrespective huge huge game on bragging rights. Can’t be more than a dozen in this & it’s a surface the Bay are not unfamiliar.
