Well this was emphatic with Armadale taking all 8 points against Willetton at home on the weekend. Daniel Brown back in form taking down the Girvan rink by 2 shots in a very important rink win. But the big win came from the Kevin McKay rink who won by 12 over Gavin Dodge. Armadale shoot to the top of the table and I think that is where they could remain for the rest of the season. Next week they get another home match against the battling Gosnells outfit whilst Willetton back at home to take on the winless Rossmoyne side.
Cockburn 74 (7) vs Dalkeith Nedlands 72 (1)
(Derek Gibson 20 - Darren Redeckis 15) (James Wylie 18 - Martin Saunders 17) (Mark (Sydney) Game 15 - Jesse Brown 30) (Paul Brotherston 21 - Michael Yates 10)
Cockburn prevailed over Dalkeith with a 2 shot aggregate win and 7 valuable points on the weekend. Jesse Brown and his rink almost got Dalkeith over the line with a 15 shot win over Mark Game but wins to James Wyllie, Paul Brotherston and Derek Gibson was enough for Cockburn to secure a narrow win. Huge result for Cockburn whilst Dalkeith will walk away disappointed with what might have been. Next week Dalkeith back at home with a vital match against Rockingham and Cockburn away at South Perth.
Gosnells 75 (2) vs South Perth 77 (6)
(Kelvin Pearce 16 - Neale Griffin 19) (Mark Beauchamp 19 - Wayne Bezant 18) (Michael Rickard 19 - Steve Kelly 17) (Rue Bishop 21 - Farley Anderson 23)
Another 2 shot aggregate match with this time the away team South Perth walking away with 6 valuable points at Gosnells. All rinks were incredibly tight with the biggest win of the day being a 3 shot win for Neale Griffin over Kelvin Pearce. But that was enough to get South Perth back on the winners list after 2 losses in a row. For Gosnells another disappointing loss but they were obviously very competitive against a good side so they will look to build on that in coming matches. South Perth back at home next week and they will be strong favourites against Cockburn whilst Gosnells away at Armadale in a tough fixture for them.
Well I didn’t see this one coming with Kardinya handing Rockingham their first defeat of the season with a comfortable win away form home. It was the Vinci party doing all the damage with West, Wright and Wood joining their captain to hand Brad Cole his first loss of the season. The Vinci party certainly like a win and I wouldn’t have wanted to be trying to get a word in when chatting to him on Saturday night. But the win sees Kardinya jump Rockingham on the ladder and they have set themselves up for a strong season. I am sure no panic at Rockingham but they would be disappointed with that result at home. Rockingham off to Dalkeith next week whilst the Cats back at home to take on Safety Bay.
Safety Bay 75 (7) vs Rossmoyne 67 (1)
(Raymond Clark 18 - Rawley Lang 15) (Raymond Kennedy 21 - Raymond Halse 20) (Ron Hall 19 - Anthony Churcher 14) (Steven Adams 17 - Craig Edson 18)
Safety Bay taking care of business with a strong 7-1 win over Rossmoyne at home. All rinks were very close and Rossmoyne tried hard to get their first win of the season but in the end they fell just short. The biggest win of the day was a 5 shot win by Ron Hall over Tony Churcher but Safety Bay will be pleased with this result and they are travelling nicely to this point in the season. Next week Safety Bay off to Kardinya whilst Rossmoyne on the road again when they travel to Willetton.
